I recently purchased this item primarily just to wash the front of my home such as stairs, driveway, and a little of it's white trim. The main reason I purchased this particular one is because for I love the brand name from prior purchases of different items and the fact that it had a multiple use nozzle. Well I do like the nozzle, however the pressure is very very weak. The nozzle loosens every time I change to a different setting. It's pretty much impossible to wrap the power cord and the hose up to the pressure washer say for storage. I regret that I bought this item, I could not recommend it to anyone.
Assembly was pretty straight forward. Attach the handle pieces, then the hose. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver.
My first use was to clean the badly stained walkway. I had to put the nozzle at the thinnest setting which gave me a pencil sized spray that blasted through the stains. As long as I was there I cranked it down to a fan spray and cleaned the rest of the walkway which had mostly ground in dirt. I also blasted some plant shelves that had some bird poop. No problems. But, after I switched the spray settings a few times the spray selector became loose. It didn't leak but it was awkward to hold the wand and change the setting.
I was curious about the noise level. I have a meter so I tested the Briggs & Stratton at 94 decibels when I was using the highest setting. That's not quiet but it's not terrible - it's the equivalent of a gas powered lawn mower.
Happy with the walkway cleaning I went to the pool deck. The deck is concrete aggregate so it has a lot of nooks and crannies for dirt (and dog waste) to hide. Like the walkway I was able to use a fan spray to clean the deck but the deck is sealed so while the dog stains look bad they usually aren't hard to clean. But, about half way through water started dripping and then streaming out of the connection between the hose and the wand. I think what's happening is when you move the wand back and forth you're also slowly loosening this connection. I checked my Husky and they have a quick connect hose attachment so it doesn't leak and is able to swivel a bit. If I keep using this power washer I may have to invest in one - otherwise I'll be wearing a swimming suit when I use it because I got soaked.
The other problem with this unit, and I have exactly the same problem with the Husky, is the hose going from the unit to the wand. It's very stiff and I don't care how hard you try it won't straighten out. I live in the Phoenix area and stretched the hose out in 105 degree weather loosened up a bit but it's still a bit stiff. When you're using the power washer the hose curls up and if you pull too hard it'll actually kink and cut off water to the nozzle (the Husky is just as unforgiving but it's never kinked). The stiffness of the hose is also a problem when you store the unit. Good luck trying to wrap the hose around the back like they show in the picture. Mine is attached but I used a long Velcro strap to hold it in place. Again, I have the same problem with the Husky.
Overall, it's OK. It leaks but I think I can fix that problem. I'm not sure what to do about the hose stiffness though. If I come up with a solution I'll update this review - if you have any ideas please share them.
