It should be a crime to sell a power washer without these attachments. Like buying a Porsche without tires and riding around on the rims...that's what my power washer was without these two little attachments. And I am not a man who indulges in hyperbole. Here's my story:
The job: a white vinyl siding house with places that are about three stories high in some places. Siding has a bit of mould/dirt that needs to be washed.
The tools: a top of the line Dewalt 4200 psi power washer ($1000)and a spray wand with the standard black/white/green/yellow/red nozzles.
The problem: if you have ever tried to power wash siding, then you probably know that the most important step is to get the cleaning soap sprayed on all the dirty bits. When you apply the right chemicals, the dirt almost dissolves right off the siding even without much water pressure. Without the cleaner, you would need every one of those pounds-per-square-inch of water pressure to be applied from about a foot away to get whatever mould it is that tends to collect (grow?) on the siding. So unless I want to get out ladders and take a week off of work, my job has to start with applying the soap to the siding on a third story attic. Should be an easy task with 4200 pounds pressure, right? Turns out (at least on my over-priced paper weight) that this is an impossible feat. You see, the soap dispenser on the Dewalt only works with the black nozzle. What is the black nozzle? Well it is the attachment that spreads water into a nice fan shape that will go about 15 ft. Unfortunately my third floor is maybe 40 ft. I have this great red nozzle that shoots a narrow stream and it gets all the way to the top of the house. But unfortunately the machine won't draw any soap with the red nozzle. Apparently the pressure drop has to be in a certain range for the soap to siphon up and that is only possible with just the black nozzle. I even tried a long pole extension ($100) as a way to reach higher up and attached the black nozzle to the end and tried it like that. Unfortunately (yes...I am using that word a lot) it still did not work. The stupid Dewalt just will not draw any soap except through the black nozzle and it can only be attached to the handle the washer came with, any other nozzle (or configuration) that might help you get soap to the top of a house and it won't work. They actually designed it that way! It says so right in the manual. So I can't apply any soap to what I want to clean...unless i get out the big ladders. Since soap is critical to the job and the black nozzle only sprays about 15 feet, that is all the power washer can clean. It's like buying a Porsche and finding out the engineers put a governor on the engine that shuts it down if you go more than 25mph. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of the machine. Absolutely ridiculous.
And then I found these little attachments and tears of joy ran down my face. (Ok, maybe just a bit of hyperbole). The pink nozzle worked!!! It drew up the soap under pressure and it sprayed high enough to dispense soap to the top of a three story house. The blue nozzle was also more useful than the others. It's pressure at the nozzle opening is likely a good bit lower than the standard red attachments, but it had a longer range. The red nozzle has extremely high pressure that seems to dissolve into mist by the time it got to the top of the house.

Compare with similar items
The pink "soap" nozzle worked well to get soap up 2 stories, but the blue pressure nozzle failed instantly. The pressure (only 2700psi) was enough to cause the nozzle to gouge under pressure. It wasn't enough to cause it to shoot out of the wand, but the gouges were enough to cause massive leaking, rendering it useless. This happened with the first pull of the trigger.
